Newsletter - June 2016

So as I write this, the first day of summer officially arrives, looking out of the window I have to disagree, but we can all hope that the sun decides to make an appearance and for this rain to disappear. This month at CSC has seen another milestone reached, the inaugural Central Staffs Cup has been announced and sold out! but more on that later, first on the agenda.. #CSCMemberoftheMonth

Member of the Month

Liz has been a fantastic in embracing the community spirit here at CSC. Whether it is in the 0630am class or of during an evening class she is always there with a cheeky personality and always brings a smile to face of others in the class. Anyone who has been in a class will be familiar her penchant for her fellow members derriere’s!!!

Her commitment to improving herself has been truly inspiring by way of  her regular attendance in normal CrossFit classes. However Liz has bitten the bullet and has now thrown herself into Sunday Gym Jones sessions and Strongman classes too.

It is truly amazing to see someone progress so well so fast, and goes to show if you make the effort you can achieve anything.

Well-done Liz. Keep up the good work!!

Pound For Pound Competition 18th - 19th June

For those of you unaware of the Pound for Pound Competiton, its based around an athletes bodyweight. The idea behind the competition first materialised when a group of coaches recognised that a 90kg guy lifting the same weight as a 65kg guy doesn’t allow for their relative strength differences.

This is the third year of the competition and our very own TJ Mendez took part. Completing qualifiers in February TJ made it into the finals along with 83 other men to compete in the final held on the 18th and 19th June at Unit 22 CrossFit Northampton.

TJ did us all proud and managed come 45th in the competition against 74 other competitors. Well done TJ and we hope to see you on the dance floor representing CSC at more CrossFit events in the future.
