How long have you been coming to Central Staffs CrossFit?
I have been coming to CrossFit since November 2015, initially started in conditioning classes then upgraded my membership to include CrossFit as well.
What was your background in fitness or sport before you joined at CSC?
I took part in various fitness activities whilst serving in the RAF but then didn’t do anything for a few years. Over the past 2/3 years I have joined a couple of gyms in Stafford focusing on aerobic classes and swimming.
How did you hear about CrossFit & how did you hear about CSC specifically?
I had never heard of CrossFit before until a work colleague highly recommended CSC. I attended a taster session and that was it, I was hooked.
What do you enjoy the most about CrossFit at CSC?
I particularly enjoy the variety and not knowing what I’ll be doing in the class until we start. I find all the staff and members extremely friendly and very encouraging. Not something I have experienced at other gyms I have attended. There is no focus on “how do I look” which can be off putting to new members.
What changes have you seen physically and mentally within yourself since you started at CSC?
Since starting at CSC, I have found I have a lot more confidence, not just at CSC but in my everyday life. I feel less stressed in my work place (which has been noticed by my colleagues). My confidence has reached new heights since I first started and my mental attitude has changed dramatically, adopting a nothing is impossible attitude (including the dreaded box jumps). In the time I have been attending CSC I can already see a physical change in my body.
Would you recommend CSC + CF to friends, family & others? If yes why?
I would definitely recommend CSC above all else. The challenges set are so different and varied and more enjoyable than anything I have experienced before. The support and encouragement I receive from staff is exceptional and I feel very strongly that if you want to see changes and benefits then hard work and commitment is needed, but also the support and drive you receive from all the coaches and fellow members….I love it.
