How long have you been coming to Central Staffs CrossFit?
What was your background in fitness or sport before you joined at CSC?
I had been going to circuit training and aerobic fitness classes twice a week for around 18 months but wanted something that would challenge me more and keep me interested.
How did you hear about CrossFit & how did you hear about CSC specifically?
Some friends recommended it who regularly attend the morning sessions.
What do you enjoy the most about CrossFit at CSC?
I love how varied it is; I can get bored quite easily with regular gym memberships or exercise classes but I always feel challenged and supported in pushing myself further. It is really inspiring to work alongside so many strong individuals with different levels of fitness and there is a great team ethic.
What changes have you seen physically and mentally within yourself since you started at CSC?
Physically, my fitness and muscle tone have definitely improved. I struggled for a while after the foundation course to achieve a good squat depth as my hip mobility was poor. With lots of practice, I conquered the squat and this has allowed me to put more into my strength training which I really enjoy. Being able to scale all exercises to your own ability level has been really important for me to build up my confidence. Mentally, I find the WODs in the evening to be a good way of switching off from work after a busy day.
Would you recommend CSC + CF to friends, family & others? If yes why?
Yes. My sister-in-law has already joined! I would recommend CSC for the supportive atmosphere and the fact that it challenges everyone, regardless of your level of fitness.
