Member of the Month - Rich Butters

Member of the Month for this month goes to… Rich Butters!

The whole coaching team have been impressed by Rich’s approach to classes recently. Despite having a busy work life, he turns up consistently and gives 100%. Alongside box programming, Rich has become a regular at our new Comp Training classes in order to progress further and has proved himself to be quite the ninja on double cross-over skipping!

Rich is a great all-rounder, achieving a 90kg snatch at our summer in-house competition and also applies the effort required to improve his gymnastics skills. It was awesome to see that Rich got his first muscle up recently - is there anything this man can’t do?!

If you’ve managed to get to know Rich, you’ll agree that he is a great, down to earth guy who has really invested into our CSC community, which we are glad he is a part of.

Congratulations, Rich!

Congratulations!

We would like to say a huge congratulations to Coach Ashleigh who recently achieved her CrossFit Level 1 qualification alongside members Shanai, Sam and Kyle. The CrossFit Level 1 offers instruction on the CrossFit methodology and it’s awesome to see the development of not only our coaching team, but members too!
On that note, we must also give a shout out to Sam and Ben. H for achieving a British Weightlifting Level 1 qualification and Coach Ben who achieved a Level 2.

Please give these guys a fist bump when you see them at the box!

🎥 CSC Welcomes Sammthecreative! 🎥

We would like to give a warm welcome to Sam Macpherson, who will be working hard to capture our good side as our resident photographer and videographer. Sam will be in the box capturing content regularly for us to post and share on socials. We think you’ll agree that the reels he has made so far have been epic and we look forward to seeing more of his work in the future!

BTG Fundraiser

As mentioned on socials and on previous editions of our newsletter, we are proud to announce our affiliation with Bridging The Gap as Physical Therapy Providers.
Bridging the Gap, Mind Matters is a registered charity, providing practical support for individuals who are experiencing hardship. Their mission is to bridge the gap faced by those trying to access mental health services but not considered urgent enough for immediate care.

A quick reminder that CSC will be hosting a charity fundraising event on 2/12/2023. Please keep your eye on BoxMate news where we will soon share more information about the event and donation details.

🎅 Christmas WOD and Social 🎄

As much as we don’t want to mention the ‘C bomb’ in October, we are want to give you all as much notice as possible about our annual Christmas WOD and social, happening on Saturday 9th December.

For our newer members, this has become CSC tradition and we have an amazing time every year. We begin the day with team games and workouts at the box (in Christmas fancy dress or our finest Christmas PJ’s), then arrange a social to meet for drinks that evening. Please pop the date in your diaries and come and join us for the fun. Here are a few photos from last years event:
